Sounds

There are few sounds that concentrate your energies as much as one of your babies screaming in the middle of the night.

Or maybe not. I was sound asleep the other night when the Missus shook me awake. She was holding Tessa, who was screaming bloody murder. "Didn't you hear your daughter crying?" Apparently not, and I have to admit that I was a little miffed that the Missus seemed more interesting in waking me up than in helping our daughter.

It was a frightening experience (for the Missus anyway.) Tessa had never behaved like that before. She's now really suffering with her teething. Poor little drooler.

The boy seems to have gotten past the worst of his teething woes (at least for now.) He has started making happy sounds, lighthearted cries that he makes when he is playing with a toy or has rolled over and is trying to crawl. When I went to work this morning, I heard him playing in his crib making those happy noises. Definitely one of the best sounds I've ever heard.

Hopefully Tessa will be making those sounds soon.
