Firsts and Lasts

Tessa pulled herself up into a standing position for the first time last night. Leaning against something of course, she's not quite ready to stand on her own. My little girl, after months of sitting on her butt, is rapidly catching up to her brother as far as mobility is concerned. Speaking scientifically, her rate of change is much greater than Adam's was.

Adam is still slightly ahead. He is using a baby walker to stroll across the floor. He's very close to standing and walking.

Yesterday I picked them up at daycare as I do every Wednesday. I went into the infants' room. When Tessa and Adam saw me, they both smiled and crawled over to me. Tessa raised her arms up, so I knelt down and picked her up. Adam climbed up my side so I got hugs from both of my children. A great moment.

With their first birthday approaching next week, we realized that we had bought our last canisters of formula. Hooray! Our usual trip to Costco included two canisters apiece for each of the twins, a case of diapers and a case of wipes. That would usually hold us for about a week-and-a-half to two weeks and would cost us over $150. Hopefully whole milk will be cheaper. Now if we could only get rid of diapers!

Ray, one of my friends at work has a daughter who will start college next year and he's freaking out, so whenever I get delusions of grandeur about buying something, I remember sadly that I'll have two starting at the same time.

Dad, believe me I am trying to record every moment in my mind to help me feel better during their teenage years.
