We're back. The hiatus was partly because the family was away on vacation, and partly because I wanted to redesign the site. Since we’ve just this morning gotten the last of our clothes unpacked from the trips that ended last week, I haven't been able to spend much time on a redesign. Oh well.
Our Puerto Rico adventure went well, but it was exhausting. It was more of an extended family visit than a vacation. Taking care of the twins in a different environment was a lot of work. They did really well with all the traveling though. Both of them appear to be born jetsetters. I have a bunch of funny stories from the trip that I'm going to write up and try to sell to a magazine or two. I'll let you know how that goes.
After we came back, I took a little jaunt out to Los Angeles to be best man at Chris Lee’s wedding. Everything went well. The bride was beautiful, the wedding was beautiful, and the alcohol was flowing. What more can you ask for?
Tessa is now cutting her sixth tooth. Between that and a cold, she has been making nights tough for us, especially the Missus. Tessa had a great time in Puerto Rico. She was always literally on the edge of her stroller seat as we walked through the airport or a museum or the zoo. She was the belle of the ball wherever we went. Everyone wanted to pick her up, and amazingly she had no problem with that and went with whoever we passed her to.
Adam is cutting his second tooth now and fighting a cold too, but remains a great sleeper. It must be because he’s using incredible amounts of energy to crawl, climb, stand, scoot and generally make himself a cute nuisance. He had somewhat of a tough time on the trip, since we really weren't able to let him roam free. Here at home, our family room is now pretty much covered in plastic and rubber, but on the road we had to pen him up. He's been making up for it this week. I've taken to making sure the garage door is locked, since it's only a matter of time before he crawls out there and tries to drive my car away.
Here are a couple of pictures from the trip. The first is the kids with their great-grandfather, who is ninety-six years old. The other picture is of the twins on the dock of the bay.
Bahía La Parguera to be exact. This was about two minutes before they started to chew on their sunglasses.
