A Month to Remember

This month has been really busy.

We had a flu-type bug that was passed around in the family, resulting in one hospitalization so far (after some IV liquids, the Missus recovered nicely). I caught it and stayed home from work a couple of days, but thanks to being in the middle of one of our periodic planning periods, I still managed to have over 40 hours that week. Adam was sick, but didn't suffer as badly as his parents. Tessa, aka Iron Girl, didn't get it at all. Her amazing resistance to illness continues (knock wood!)

We had a nice visit with some friends (hi, Chris!) and the twins continued their Spanish and swimming classes. The Christmas tree stayed up for a record-setting amount of time, but was finally put away, to general sadness all around. Winter in the form of a tiny little snow storm entertained the kids, who still can't understand why Daddy doesn't love snow as much as they do.

My angel Tessa was a literal angel in her preschool's Epiphany Program. There's a picture of her above, the sweet little ham.

Adventures in potty training continue with my other angel, Adam. He has finally mastered numero uno but has just been teasing us about numero dos. Some days he gets it, on others, it's a Code Brown. He's really close and we know he'll get it soon--maybe tomorrow! Then it really will be a month to remember.

More from Colorado

A couple more shots from beautiful Garden of the Gods Park in Colorado City before we go back to our regularly scheduled Tessa and Adam programming...

I'm still playing around with creating black and white images. Here is Balanced Rock:

Colorado Revisited: Air Force Academy

I've finally been able to sort through my Colorado pictures. A couple of months late isn't too bad, is it?

These are a couple of favorites. The top one is a view of the beautiful United States Air Force Academy Cadet Chapel in Colorado Springs. The middle picture shows the inside of the Protestant Chapel. The bottom is the B-29 Memorial on Honor Court at the Academy. I tried to make it look like a picture from World War II.

I have a couple more to post later. It was a very photogenic place!

Are we there yet?

The twins had a very happy Christmas and we're treated well by Santa and by all of their relatives. As usual they have more stuff than they know what to do with, so their detritus ends up all over the floor in the family room, the kitchen, under the tree in the living room, in Tessa's room, in Adam's room, in Mommy and Daddy's room...well, you get the idea. For Daddy and Mommy, any journey across the room turns out to be the navigation of a minefield of molded plastic. A small price to pay for our children's happiness, right?

We took several trips out to my ancestral homeland (Bowie, that is.) On Christmas Day, the phrase "Are we there yet?" was used for the first time by the twins. Something tells me that it won't be the last.
